Vacation at a military hospital? The cooperative “Feriendorf Fiesch” anticipated the potential of grouping two needs which could easily be combined in times of peace: a military hospital for the swiss army (ca. 500 beds) and an accommodation for international youth groups (ca. 1’000 beds).

The deep hooded lids that cover each window of the hotel articulate the façade like outsized scales and serve their function protecting the cool dark interior against the heat coming from the Sahel region and the winds from the Atlantic.
